FAQ

Family owned and operated, Vision Building Reports is the Darling Downs’ premier building and pest inspection service. Offering a combined 50 years of industry experience, our team are happy to field any questions you may have. We’ve also put together a list of questions we get asked regularly.

If you have a query you don’t see answered here, feel free to give us a call.

  • Do I have to be at the inspection?

It isn’t necessary for you to be present but we recommend you join our inspector, so he can share his findings with you in real time. It’s a beneficial experience for everyone, from first home buyers to even seasoned property investors. Our reports will detail every imperfection with photos as needed but we maintain it is best to see it for yourself.

  • What will it cost?

A combined building and pest inspection with us can start from $450. This takes into consideration the type of building, number of rooms and structural materials used. When we give you your quote, we will explain everything in plain English, not industry jargon.

  • How long will the inspection take?

As every building is unique, the answer to this varies with every inspection. Our inspector, Brad Hogan, will draw on his decades of experience to give you an estimation during your quote. This quote will consider the number of rooms, floors, any ceiling or sub-spaces and any other structures on the property.

  • What if there are problems found during the inspection?

No building can ‘fail’ an inspection, unless it is seriously structurally unsound. With decades of industry experience, our inspector, Brad Hogan, can point you in the direction of who you can contact to fix any problems. This is so you can weigh up whether the cost of repairs is worthwhile when considering the purchase of a property.

  • What is covered in the report?

Our combined building and pest inspection reports will find any signs of a wood pest infestation, general damage and deterioration, structural compromise or any other potential hazards in your new home. For more information about the areas our inspector will access and what they will be looking for, see our Process page.
